A little Poem

I simply decided to call this little poem The Heart…the photo above was taken at the top of Slieve Donard where folks leave a token behind. For some it is a token of someone they carry with them. Some burdens feel almost impossible to carry, others are a joy to be a part of. The photo below is by the grotto at Lourdes. Behind the candle reads “This candle continues my prayer.” Tonight I can say “This poem continues my prayer.” Enjoy 🙂
Knowing

Their distance spans oceans,

It cries

Yearning to burst free

To sail seek and find

The one

Who set it aflame
Feeling

Closer together than imaginable

It cries

Yearning to stay

To steady settle and behold

The one

Who set it aflame
Believing

That distance is irrelevant

All that matters

Are the two hearts

No longer one

Together aflame
